Chad's Pinarello 15
marker, Watercolor on paper, 23 x 17"
$150.00
I first painted Chad’s bike in 2001, when he was riding it for everything — messenger work, alleycats, and getting around NYC and Minneapolis. It’s remained one of my favorites.
I used to make blind drawings with oil pastel. I love the look, but they never really dry and are endlessly messy and hard to preserve. Here I’m trying with tempera and watercolor sticks, which give a similar softness without the smearing. Drawn on Stonehenge White paper (or maybe Rives BFK).
