Two of my favorite muses together. Chad’s well-worn Pinarello track bike and Eddie’s Dave Moulton track bike both carry years of New York riding history in their frames — messenger miles, races, repairs, friendships, and the personalities of the people who rode them.

So excited to have my friend Joe’s Bernard Carré Vignolles in the studio.

Bernard's 1960 something Atala has that wonderful, elegantly wasted, circusy look.

Eddie was a messenger long before I met him, always a friendly voice in the city’s cycling world. After he died about ten years ago, his bike came to live in my studio, where it has remained a favorite muse. This painting is part of my ongoing “unfinished finished” series, I stop before fully describing the image, leaving i some areas open like a glance.
