This website is in Drupal
I started working with it
on my birthday, September 13, 2011
when I felt that the static HTML site, I had started in 1998
was no longer cutting it.
I chose Drupal on the advice of my friend,
all around genuis and awesome person, Amanda,
who gave me and the new site a good start
It was almost 2 years in development
before this new site went live.
I had to learn alot about Drupal
and what goes with it, html and css
as it has changed in the last 15 years.
The site is, and will always be a work in progress.
That's the way I like it,
Building my site myself gives me control
It is very interesting and I think important to understand how
coding works, at least a little bit, when so much is dependant on it.
The site riddled with wacky stuff
that I tinker with endlessly.
adjusting and making better as I learn.
The Drupal community is very supportive.
There are people and resources I can turn to if I really need help.
Most of the time, though, I can figure stuff out,
fix what annoys me and make it work on my own.
It gives me an enormus sense of pride.
I just had one of those moments,
a breakthrough with an issue
I have been chipping away at for a while.
It has to do with CSS and the imagezoom module.
so I feel like some kind of goddamn genius!
