torn between continuing and calling this a false start. I had a hard time getting beyond the first step. Maybe I should have begun with paint and not oiled charcoal. it was too blocky, chunky . I went to sleep confidant I would pull it off the stretchers and do something else, now I'm not so sure. I want to go in looser. I want to make big paintings bigger than 18x24, maybe 30x40 that have the looseness freshness of the 5x7 sketches while feeling resolved.
