Squid’s winter work bike, a humble, hard used machine built up for surviving New York winters. The image started as a drawing from life in the studio. I drew on tinfoil to make the kitchen lithograph plate, printed it by hand on my press, then finished with hand coloring. The print and painting sit together naturally, I didn’t overwork it. This one didn’t need the usual white outline. The darker shapes and the warm paper already carried the image.
