I'm between things right now
Taking time to just follow a train of thought
I want to make paintings without making a commitment.
Free and easy
I want to feel more comfortable with my brushwork
So I'm doing monoprints
It can be brushy and painty but fast.
Encouraging me not to pick away at things.

I'm playing Mattise today
making simple monoprints
by rolling color on the plate
and drawing in it with pencil.
Getting into the line,
getting all meditative.

We thought this bike was built by George Omelenchuk
a 1950's - 1960's Michigan bike maker.
He coached his wife, Jeanne Omelenchuk,
a three-times U.S. Olympic skater
and recent USCF Masters Cycling Champion.

Here he checks her bike at a 1964 competition.
