News from the studio

Fast Eddie Williams.

August 27, 2016 - 7:48am

It's the end of an era.  I heard the news yesterday, a day filled with memories
of when I first started cycling in the city and spent about 10 years hanging around with messengers.
Lots of Alley Cat street races and good parties in great places.

Eddie took photos documenting the scene.
He made his home into a gallery
and hosted shows celebrating the community.
On one occasion I scanned his slides for a show.
It was illuminating.

Eddie was always there until yesterday,
A tie to a favorite time.
with a smile, kind word, and awesome bike.

That Frejus, the Dave Moulton.
I regret I never painted them.

Had a Snack in Nyack!

August 24, 2016 - 8:14pm

me and Pit, my very good friend and best riding buddy
jumped on our bikes and headed North.
Wonderful ride, up the West Side Bike Path over the GWB , River Road and up to Nyack for a snack
then back.
Perfect!

I only took the bridge picture today,
so here we are a couple weeks ago
doing the same thing!

Street Smart Bike Art

August 22, 2016 - 12:47pm

The last two Saturdays I did an art workshop for Summer Streets!

It was a great opportunity and the first time I've been to the event.

I didn't know what to expect so I put together an art kit with a variety of art supplies lots of rubber stamps,

some were bikes made from my drawings, others were sillouettes and street sign shapes I made from rubber and mounted on wood blocks.

I was so happy and inspired by everyone who took part!
